Rusty Rierson: Music
"Prison Break"
(Rusty Rierson)
This is a song a friend of mine, Wayne Wedin, wrote on a rooftop in Iraq while in the army. Jake put music to it later. I finally begged Wayne enough to let me record it. I'm glad we got to put this one on the album!
Prison Break
1st Verse:
I was Sittin' at home, all alone on the couch; Wishin' I could be with my buddies downtown, but the Warden she told me, that I can't go out, I'm just a modern day outlaw, here on lock-down.
Chorus:
Well the boys out at Folsom would be proud of me, This house is a cellblock and she's got my keys. I'd love to go out, but she'd never agree. So I call up my buddies to come rescue me.
2nd Verse:
Lord, I hope, them hinges don't squeak; Cause man if they do, it's all over for me.
Just one little noise is all it would take, to bring a quick end, to this prison break.
2nd Chorus:
Well the boys out at Folsom would be proud of me, This house is a cellblock and she's got my keys. I'd love to go out, but she'd never agree. So I called up my buddies to come rescue me.
(Intstrumental)
3rd Verse:
Well I finally got home at a quarter to four, Snuck up to the house, but can't find the front door. She's got my shotgun Sittin' on the front-porch, From the look in her eyes, well I might be divorced!
